LEGO® 90th anniversary

A Digital Journey Through Time

At Digital Vision, we embarked on an extraordinary project
to commemorate LEGO's 90th anniversary by creating an immersive, one-page scrollable website. Our goal was to craft a digital masterpiece that meticulously mapped the rich history of LEGO bricks, from 1932 to the present day.
This journey involved gathering hundreds of milestones, thousands of pieces of information, and a treasure trove of old photos.

Our Approach: Reviving History with Digital Brilliance

Our approach was rooted in a deep appreciation for LEGO's history and its iconic status in the world of play and creativity. We aimed to not only showcase this history but also make it come alive through the digital medium.

In-Depth Research: Our team conducted extensive research to gather historical data, milestones, and images from LEGO's storied past. We left no brick unturned to ensure the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the content.

Custom 3D Models: To recreate the magic of vintage LEGO sets, we painstakingly designed custom 3D models in photoreal quality. These models provided a vivid and tangible representation of LEGO's rich heritage.

Immersive Animation: We incorporated mesmerizing animations and on-scroll effects that enhanced the user experience. As visitors scrolled through the site, they were treated to a visual journey through time, with each scroll revealing a new chapter in LEGO's storied history.

Vintage Aesthetics: The overall visual design of the website was meticulously crafted to recall old graphic styles and the tactile feeling of paper mediums. The color palettes, typography, and design elements evoked the nostalgia of bygone eras, further immersing users in LEGO's remarkable past.

The Technical Solution

Lazy Loading of Milestones: Given the vast amount of content, we implemented a dynamic lazy loading mechanism for milestones. Instead of loading everything at once, we employed transition animations between milestones, loading each segment seamlessly as users navigated through time. This ensured a smooth and uninterrupted experience while exploring LEGO's extensive history.

Responsive Design: The website was designed to be responsive across various devices, ensuring that users could enjoy the experience on both desktop and mobile platforms.

Results

A Timeless Tribute to LEGO's Legacy

The final product was a comprehensive digital archive that showcased the entire history of LEGO toys. The website received accolades for its user-friendly design, engaging animations, and meticulous attention to detail. Visitors from around the world could explore LEGO's journey with the click of a mouse or a swipe of their screens, all while experiencing the charm of an era gone by.

The project not only celebrated LEGO's 90th anniversary but also exemplified the power of digital storytelling. It provided an immersive experience that transported users back in time, offering a nostalgic and educational journey through LEGO's evolution.
